In July 2007, Cary gave Lota a "first retirement" gift in the form of a slot in the LPGA Tournament of Champions Pro-Am hosted by the Mitchell Company at Magnolia Grove Golf Club (a Robert Trent Jones course) in Mobile, Alabama. The tournament was on November 7, and Lota had the great privilege of teaming with Pat Hurst, a professional golfer since 1995 with career earnings approaching $6 million. Along with Pat and Lota's other amateur partners, Bob, Pete and David, the team shot a 59, a robust 13 under par. Lota connected on a good drive on the right hole, and brought home the longest drive (woo hoo!). What a gift, what a great day, and here are a few pictures by the wonderful husband who made it all possible!!
Lota and Pat Hurst are all smiles at No. 18 green!
