January 1 - Enjoyed a great start in Buffalo Gap to a well-paced year in 2009! HAPPY NEW YEAR! January 2 - Watched college football bowl games -- sad to see Texas Tech lose to Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl, but what a great year for the Red Raidersl January 5 - Watched college football bowl game -- happy to see the University of Texas win in the Sugar Bowl with Colt McCoy (a fellow Jim Ned High School graduate) leading the way. January 17 - FIrst trip of the new year - Ruth Ann, Tom, Cary and Lota depart via American Airlines for Washington DC to attend the Texas Society Black Tie & Boots Ball. Cick here for photos and story - Black Tie & Boots 2009. January 19 - Black Tie & Boots Ball, Washington, DC January 20 - Historical inauguration of Barack Obama as the United States' 44th president. Departed Washington DC to return to Buffalo Gap. January 26 - Elly's birthday. Celebrated with family at Spaghetti Warehouse in Abilene. January 27 - Alyssa and Ruth Ann's birthdays. Stayed indoors due to icy weather in Buffalo Gap -- enjoyed getting caught up on our newest favorite series "Damages" January 30 - Buffalo Gap gang celebrated Ruth Ann's birthday at Tuscany's Coffeehouse in Abilene. See photos below. January 31 - Lota had lunch with the "Jim Ned Girls" at ACC. The Philharmonic "gang" enjoyed dinner at ACC followed by a wonderful concert by the Abilene Phiharmonic at the Civic Center - "Russian Fireworks." Enjoyed coffee afterwards at Mezamiz Deux Coffee House.

February 1-7 - Worked on website. February 8 - Photo session with Brenn, Jessica & Abigail. February 9-12 - Worked on website. February 13 - Happy Monthiversary - 20 months to 20 years! February 14 - Happy Valentine's Day - enjoyed wonderful evening at ACC - dining and dancing! February 20 - Attended the AAUW "Night at the Opera" Gala featuring performers in town for the opera "Carmen" - enjoyed dinner and wonderful entertainment at the ACC. See photos below. February 21 - Enjoyed dinner with the Philharmonic gang (and Teresa & Kerry) before an awesome concert featuring songs from four Broadway musicals - "South Pacific," "Evita," "Hello Dolly!" and "Les Miserables." Very enjoyable evening! February 22-28 - Bookwork, bookwork, bookwork!! February 26 - One of the most destructive wildfires burned over 3,000 acres about 20 miles west of the Compound. March 1-3 - Bookwork, bookwork, bookwork! March 4 - Trip to Dallas to visit with financial planning team (thanks Cyndy and Casey) and tax team (thanks Joan and Deb)! Enjoyed lunch at Via Real, and really enjoyed seeing BIllie Williamson over lunch! March 5 - Completed the sorting of clothes (primarily baby clothes) for The Salazar family. Jordan helped alot (see photo below)! Thanks to Ruth Ann, Nancy, Betsy, Cary & Lota! March 6-9 - Prepared Waggin' Wagon for departure on RV Trip 1 2009. March 10 - Departed on RV Trip 1 2009 with the majority of time planned for Arizona.
